An Experimentation in Patina

A collection of metal samples, each with a different method of patinating. The methods include; cold and hot applications, as well as varying lengths of exposure, from one minute to 24 hours. Each method produces a different color and/or intensity of patina. I mixed a variety of self-made chemical solutions as well as a few store-bought patinas to achieve the different looks. The samples consist of Aluminum, Brass, Copper, and Steel tiles. The work is framed in a Douglas fir shadow box.
